About Dr. DY.KWAK

Trained in planning and field activities of global cities, I works mainly on the social aspects of soft designing and urban development in living enviornment. The big issue behind my research and practice is how to make more sustainable and lively cities.

Recently, I am undertaking an interdisciplinary, multi-institutional research on the renovation process and economic values of industry cluster in large cities, which is supported by Obayashi Foundation Grant, and Living Environmental Innovation(LEI) project funded by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.

In the recent past, I have worked on making places and promoting livable communities in Chiba downtown, and planning for low-carbon urban growth (funded by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science).
